"Diabetic care over video calls during pandemic"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Endocrinology and Diabetes

(as a service user),

Due to the recent pandemic appointments at Ayr Hospital were understandably cancelled but I was offered an online video appt.  This was taken by my Diabetic dietician Ruth who was able to catch up with me every 2-3 weeks to ensure my diabetic control was as good as possible during this stressful time.  I was sent information to keep me up to date with carb counting and other aspects of my condition from the comfort of my own home.

I'm not very good at hospital appts as I suffer a little from white coat syndrome where I just want to get this over and done with but the video calls made me more at ease and able to ask questions I wouldn't otherwise have asked which increased the value of each appt to me.  Thanks Ruth.
