Having relied upon alcohol to help with everyday situations and getting to a point of not being able to complete simple daily tasks I asked for help and it was the best choice I made.
The hardest thing I have done was admitting I had an issue with alcohol. It became a habit, reaching One Recovery Bucks helped me to assess and deal with the issues surrounding alcohol misuse and what I needed to do to help with those problems.
A designated key worker called me once a week, she was amazing, listening to me chatter and cry and offering all the help she could to help me get better. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. I was at 60-70 units per week (government recommend 10-14) and with help from Rebecca I was able to slowly reduce those to less than 10.
It will in the next couple of months be zero units, however for myself I needed to take the extra time to reduce it. ORB do not push you to make goals you cannot commit to, they assist any way they can with 1-1 sessions and group sessions. I couldn’t recommend them more and know they’re always there should I need them.
Thanks again Rebecca.
