"My story is about healing myself"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

For nearly all my life I have had lots of therapy, sometimes good sometimes no conclusion or a sense or not being heard, untill recently. I had the chance to have therapy on the phone, which I was doubtful about how it would go, for the first time ever, I understood myself better, I was diagnosed with complex PTSD, the sessions on the phone enabled me to really express my inner thoughts without judgement, now I understand, shaky helped me believe in my self again, which helped me to learn who I am inside, I really thank inclusion. I will still have a long journey, but now I can put the pieces back together. Thank you

Dear Ninja shopper 67,

Thank you for sharing your experience of therapy with us. I am so sorry to hear that you have experienced therapy before where you felt as though you haven't been heard, especially because therapy is a place for us to be listened to. It is fantastic to hear that you have had a different experience with Inclusion and one that sounds very positive!

Your doubts regarding having telephone appointments were certainly normal as it is not our usual way of working but, as we know, telephone sessions still provide the same level of care and same results as face to face sessions; so I am pleased that you found this to be true too. It sounds as though you used your sessions to express all of your inner thoughts and emotions which has helped you to learn so much about yourself. I am sure Shaky will really appreciate your comments about how you have discovered self-belief again.

You are absolutely right in that this really is the beginning of your journey whereby you can take everything that you have learnt from your therapy and continue to build upon your progress using these tools. Therapy sessions really are the first steps, it is what you do now which is so important and it sounds as though you are well on your way to putting the pieces back together.

I wish you the very best of luck for the future.

Take care,

Jade
