"Aftercare after cesarean"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was induced due to having pre-eclampsia.  The birth ended in me having an emergency cesarean.  I was taken to ward 'Wheal Fortune' to recover.  All the staff were lovely and so helpful, I ended up having to stay for 5 days due to baby having an infection.  It wasn't nice having to spend time away from my family but having the midwifes there to help me breast feed and give me and my baby care gave us the best start we could have had.

All the staff were chatty and lovely and made me feel at home.

The care was excellent.  We were observed and checked on constantly, I felt really safe in their care.
