"Disappointing manners"

About: Flitwick Surgery

Firstly, Thankyou to all the NHS staff who have worked through this tough time the vast majority of you have been amazing. This review is not a reflection on the overall service you provide.

Sadly, Flitwick surgery has let me down again. I am lucky enough to attend this surgery less than once a year but today I had to drop a sample off. The tone and condescending attitude I was faced with was frankly nothing short of rude. Unhelpful, ignorant and dismissive. We are all allowed to have bad days but this surgery has let my family down so many times by way of the way the staff speak to patients.

This isn’t the forum for “naming and shaming” and I wholly appreciate the tough times the staff may be facing. But please reflect - we are ALL in this in some way or another. Struggling in Covid is not exclusive to GP surgeries.

I’m a police officer. My wife is a midwife. We’ve worked through this pandemic on “the frontline”. We can empathise with public services, the demand, the funding and of course - the public!

However, we’ve Both independently engaged with this surgery This last week and both come away feeling let down and spoken to like we were an inconvenience.

Sadly this type of review is not new for the surgery and as such I fear no one will reflect but perhaps take this away - it’s ok just to be kind and polite to people; funding and demands have no influence of human decency and emotion.

That’d be a nice start in these incredibly difficult times.
