My labour was induced by rupture of membranes because of low amniotic fluid.
This occurred at 2pm in the induction of labour ward RJMH, the midwife stated nothing would happen for ages etc, did not advise what signs I should look for/action to take or check how I was.
I hit an emergency buzzer at 5pm as my son was being born; I was rushed to delivery suite.
My son was born at 5.15pm needing resuscitated with an apgar score of 3. He needed help to breathe and had to go to the neonatal ward.
I believe if I had have been properly monitored after being induced, my son would not have been placed at such risk as I would have been in the safe environment of the delivery ward much sooner.
He could have died and the RJMH never acknowledged this; I had to write 3 letters of complaint before they even acknowledged that they should at least take steps to endure this doesn't occur again.
