"l needed Botox injection"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

l needed Botox injection into my Oesophagus to help with swallowing my food as I suffer from Achalasia

I arrived at Endoscopy dept  at Lincoln Hospital was greeted by a friendly nurse who took my temperature. She took me into waiting room and explained what was going to happen.

Was then taken into a room answering questions and was taken into a side ward. Another nurse came and said she was going to be with me all the way through my procedure  and explained everything to me again inserted a canula into my arm for my sedation as I needed something to relax me as its not a pleasant procedure.

I was taken into the theatre and met the Doctors and staff who were going to look after me again very friendly and again explained what was going to happen. The procedure was done and they spoke to me all the way through it explaining was going on. It was done with empathy and understanding and  professionalism.

When completed   I was told of what was done and of other  permanent procedures that are avavaliable to  help my Achalasia, which I hopefully can look forward to having in the near future. I cannot thank all concerned enough for making my visit a pleasant one
