"Mixed Opinions about Surgery"

About: St. Luke's Surgery

(as the patient),

I have mixed opinions on the matter of this surgery. For me, in general, they have been very helpful, kind, compassionate and trustful (up to the extent allowed by the NHS being swamped and people bothering medical services for nothing or minor ailments that could be easily self resolved). But it is true that some of the receptionists have tended to be very rude and unempathetic, phone lines can be extremely difficult to go through, making you wait for hours on the phone, and one doctor can treat me very condescendingly, lacking with sympathy and making me feel as if they are looking down on me and won't accepting my own opinion as valid, only their view as the absolute truth. But on the other hand, this doctor has been very attentive to my case nevertheless.

Other than that, the online system normally works well, normally quick responses, and the eldest receptionists and nurses are much better prepared in dealing with patients. the other Drs are very much more approachable and less authoritarian, prescriptions and requests for paperwork have been solved properly. Nonetheless and overall I would rate the surgery as presenting areas for improvement as stated above, as well as presenting itself as a growing and developing surgery located in a difficult student and migrant community. Therefore my mixed opinions, mostly good but with glitches to work on.

In current conditions since last year, we must take into consideration the COVID chaos which has surely negatively impacted on the whole NHS and people, giving them extra loads of work, stress and so on.

Thankful for their service so close to my home.
