"My Dad's pulmonary fibrosis"

About: Enhanced Care / Community Respiratory Care Outpatients / Respiratory

(as a service user),

Dad was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and was taken under the care of the mullinure respiratory team.  They offered him so much support and care from the start to the end of his life. We could never express how grateful we are to the whole team.  Every time we had to get advice we came across the most caring and personable people. Even on his death bed dad mentioned how great the team had been... he could not have had a better team.

We must give a special mention to Wendy, Shane, Colette and  Rosin. Thank you for making my dad’s last two days so bearable.

Dear Hilf87

My name is Sharon McCloskey and I am the bereavement co-ordinator in the Southern Trust. I am so sorry that your father has died and I would like to extend my sympathies to you and your family.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the excellent care your father, and you as his family received from the mullinure respiratory team and from Wendy, Shane, Colette and Roisin in particular. Your experience reflects how important a caring and compassionate response is alongside skilled care. I hope the support you received at this time has helped a little as you grieve your father's death.

We also have a range of resources on our website for people bereaved for any reason during the pandemic. These can be accessed at https://southerntrust.hscni.net/service/bereavement/ should they be of help.

With kind regards

Sharon
