"Peripheral DVT and Long Covid"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

So, week 2 of at home and not attending work fer non emergency ambulances.  I'm a call taker and over the age of 60.

Had Zpositive CoVid result on 19th December and really wasnt prepared for this long Covid business!  It is what it is!

I do have long term circulatory problems in one leg and had noticed first a few days a hard swelling around the back of the right calf.

With the general aches sweats and pains of 'covid I just didn't want to panic but on Sinday early am, due too it being a pain and irritating, I went to get it checked out at A & E.  I reasoned it was ma body, qwerky as it is, I had already got a Drs note for the next week, but coupled with covid and the ruddy lethargy etc., I needed it checked out.

Got there under ma own steam, before 8am, seen with 5mins, triaged and awaited fer Dr to be free to see and possibly chat too.

Dr Charles, locum from Newcastle attended mevand was thorough.  Went off fer a scan- ultrasound too leg.  He too had felt the lil lump

Came back within half n hour was seen and outta the hospital by 10.30!  Had advice, reassurance, and a good result that deep veins were clear and just to keep monitoring what was there on the outer extremities.

;-)

I have to say I was followed up by a close family friend who is senior sister at Peterborough.  Lol.

Lots of advise all the way round.  And relief.
