"Their help is much appreciated"

About: Lewis Manning Hospice Care

(as a service user),

My husband has been unable to attend the Lewis Manning meetings, as, as well as Covid, he is unable now to leave the house. He is having palliative care at home from Agape. Saying that, every Thursday I have a call from one of the lovely staff at LM. Which has been a real help at times, just to know they're there to help is much appreciated. We've had very thoughtful boxes of gifts, and although he can't appreciate them fully, I show him what we have, and he does realise how lovely they all are. We have met Mandy, Lisa and Nigel in person, as they have popped in to see us.

He has Parkinsons and some dementia, and is steadily deteriorating, but his humour still shines through at times. I am hoping to have my husband at home to take care of, for as long as possible, along with the help of carers and members of our family.

Thank you so much for contacting us on Care Opinion. It means so much to the Team at Lewis Manning that have been able to offer you both some support and lovely that you have met some of the team in person. The Nurses really look forward to calling all of our patients and it gives us all the opportunity to get to really know you all and its so lovely to hear that you look forward to your call on a Thursday as much as they do, and that the have been a real help, knowing that the team are here for you.. It was so lovely for the Team to be able to come and visit you all at home with our boxes of kindness, and that you are able to show these gifts to your husband.

As we now are able to offer our Virtual Day Hospice to our patients it would be so lovely if we could deliver one of our devices to you at home and you and your husband could join one of our Virtual Coffee mornings, as well as many other sessions we will be offering, and one of the team will be happy to give you more details.

All of the team at Lewis Manning are so excited about this especially during these difficult times when we cannot see you Face to Face we can still see you all virtually.

Please let one of the team know if you would like to join one of our virtual sessions if you are not already doing so, and if you are we really hope you are enjoying them.

I will share your lovely comments with the team, and again thank you for taking the time to let us know we have made a difference it means so much to us all, and we all look forward to seeing you again face to face really soon.
