"Outstanding Care"

I have just arrived home after spending 2 nights as an inpatient at your Cancer Treatment centre in Pontefract. I was very impressed that I had managed to get a date for laparoscopy surgery during the current pandemic. The information provided to me advising to isolate for 2 weeks prior to surgery and having a Covid test prior to surgery made me feel much safer knowing I would be attending a Covid safe site. Pontefract Hospital is exceptionally clean and the staff are all very kind and caring. The gynaecology surgeon, anaesthetist and registrar were all very informative before my procedure. The nurses were so compassionate and caring, attending to my every need from keeping my anxiety at bay to caring for me as an inpatient as I wasn’t well enough to return home after surgery. The staff themselves are facing there own mental challenges being re-deployed to Covid wards during this 3rd lockdown and for that I sympathise greatly and wish them all the very best and thank them for being selfless human beings. I am so thankful for the care and support of all the nursing staff, domestic staff, housekeeping, students and porters in cancer treatment centre at Pontefract. You made me feel very comfortable, kept my spirits high which helped me have much quicker recovery. Keep up the fantastic work and stay safe!
