Went today for a blood test only to find that there had been a mistake and the surgery had booked my appointment an hour later than they said. Receptionist wouldn’t even ask if they could fit me in, which I thought was extremely unhelpful given we were talking a matter of minutes. May as well have been a robot at the desk - is there a shortage of empathetic human beings willing to work at doctor’s surgeries? I don’t find it easy to get out and don’t ring the surgery usually because it takes a very long time to get through and then you’re often spoken to unpleasantly. I just hope that there wasn’t anything important that would have been revealed by my overdue blood test as between the surgery’s availability and my struggles with dealing with them and getting out I can’t see it happening any time soon.
