"TERRIBLE, REALLY UPSET"

We’ve waited almost 2 months for this appointment for an ultrasound on my husband’s kidneys. Terrible snow and sleet this morning so we set off way early, and what would have been 10 min drive took 30 mins with cars getting stuck all over the place. Arrived on time to find staff very relaxed, stood around chatting, drinking cups of tea. Get told the lady with the ultrasound equipment is stuck in snow and won’t get there for another 2-3 hours at least – “Sorry”.

Now while I 100% understand that that situation is nobody’s “fault”, if she was 2-3 hours away, surely a quick look at the system first thing would have shown that somebody was about to set off in dangerous snow and ice for an appointment that was NEVER EVER going to happen. Absolutely NO excuse to have not made a 30 second phone call to have let us know - cup of tea would still have been there!!! Really upset about how it was handled. And of course, who knows when he will get an ultrasound now, but as I say, that part isn’t the surgeries fault!

We are very sorry that you were so disappointed as Ultrasound were unable to contact you to cancel your appointment last Thursday due to the snow.

They are a separate service to the GP surgery , they hire a room at Lingwell Croft Surgery and see patients from Leeds practices so we don't have a list of their patients.

We understand that they had tried to contact all patients by phone that morning. I have asked them to contact you directly to arrange for another appointment.
