I telephoned on behalf of my profoundly deaf mother and was genuinely depressed by the tone and curt manner of the unfriendly receptionist. I always endeavour to be friendly on the phone, but her manner was so curt and unsympathetic that I did not bother to thank her for her minimal efforts. I completely sympathise that it may be a demanding job, but my own surgery is always helpful and polite. Come on, you can do better!!
