Our daughter was born in the RAH in Glasgow, but got quite sick not long after her birth. She was then transferred over to the childrens hospital nicu in Glasgow. I unfortunately could not go with her, and we spent one night apart from each other which was a horrible experience.
A nurse Pauline looking after her set up an internet link for me so I could see how she was, I was also able to phone her, which I will be eternally grateful for as she was very reassuring. I don't want to go into huge details about what happened as I might be here along time, but I am along with my partner so grateful for everyone's help, all the nurses and drs involved in our daughters care, all admin staff arranging accommodation for my partner the first night in the hospital, and a hotel.
The breast feeding support nurse who managed to get us a family room together for the last two nights, so I could establish breast feeding with my daughter and make sure she was okay before travelling 3 hours back home. All the staff were amazing and caring towards us, we will always be so grateful for this. I really wish I could remember every one's names but because I was under so much stress and very anxious I just can not.
I want to thank a nurse called Wendy who took 10 mins to sit down with me and talk to me about how I was feeling, she honestly made me feel so much better. All the nurses were so kind and caring. All the Drs who explained to us what was going on, the level of care was outstanding to us and we just can not thank you all enough.
We also want to thank the midwifes and drs on duty in the RAH the day our daughter was admitted to intensive care,
Also an Auxiliary Nurse who worked the night shift, Also Thank Lesley who remembers me from the Birth of my first child. Even though I've not mentioned everyone I'm still very grateful for everyone's care.
A great thank you to all the midwifes who were involved in my care on the labour ward, I literally could not of done it without you. The care you receive on the labour ward is outstanding.
Last I would like to thank my own midwife Ronnie in Oban hospital, for all her care, she went above and beyond her duty of care for me and will be eternally grateful for it. She phoned me whilst she was on holiday to check up on my daughter while she was in the nicu in Glasgow. She was there to reassure me through every step of my pregnancy as my first birth was traumatic, she came out to visit us a couple of weeks after we got home. Thank you Ronnie.
"The level of care was outstanding to us and we just cannot thank you all enough."
