"Have not been seen in nearly a year"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

I have not been seen by rheumatology in nearly a year due to Covid, I’m in immense pain and feel absolutely rubbish. I have to wait at least 2 weeks to be called back the last time I did receive a reply I was told by a rheumatology nurse that the consultant is not there. Never seems to be. Was told that my GP can deal with me and that due to Covid they cannot prescribe me anything else. I just feel like giving up cannot carry on with this level of pain it’s so depressing day in day out.

We are very sorry to learn of the problems you are experiencing. The pandemic is having an effect on some of our services and we are very sorry if you have experienced problems contacting the rheumatology service.
