"Not happy"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

My mum was admitted to a and e last night with breathing difficulties. She is 78 years old and nearly 24 hours later she's still in a and e waiting on a bed and in all that time she's only had a sandwich 2 cups of tea and 1 glass of water. She as also had to ask for them. I am well aware of how busy staff are but this is ridiculous. She sat there all on her own nearly crying because she feels so unwell and there's nothing we can do about it! I've tried ringing the department but it either just rings and nobody answers are you get a engaged tone. While writing this review my mum as just phoned me to say she is 3rd on the list for a bed. So she could still be there until tomorrow. Please don't get me wrong as I'm aware of how busy staff are but she's all alone and struggling and as a close family it's very upsetting. Nobody sbould be left for that long especially the elderly. It's time the big bosses at Blackburn hospital sort this out.
