"I felt I was not taken seriously"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I went to a & e straight from my GP. I was in alot of pain with suspected kidney stones. Arrived. Was booked in, sent to a& email side. Booked in AGAIN. And told to take a seat. Eventually seen by triage. And told to sit back down again.

After being there 2 and a bit hours 2x HCSW were taking patients observations. After going to other patients they got to me. Asked if I was in pain I said yes. My name was called as they were taking my temp which was high. So the "leading"HCSW told them I couldn't go to be seen. Grabbed me a wheelchair and took me to "covid side"

The person who shouted me came to the otherside said what she doing here. To which the HCSW said to the other one. Im not taking her back and they left. I was then left again. In agony in a corridor!

I was seen and triaged and bloods done and sent back to the "non-covid" side. I was given paracetamol in IV. Then my canula flipped out. I was called through and all staff I encountered after that were brilliant. No kidney stones. But told severe infection somewhere and sent home with a prescription of antibiotics and ibuprofen. I couldve got from the drs at half 1 in the afternoon. So had to wait til the next morning for a pharmacy to open to get someone to get me the prescription.

I felt I was not taken serious. I am still in pain. Just hope I havent got covid from that place to top it all off.
