"I attended uhw a & e tonight with my son."

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I brought my 21 years old son in tonight. He has a chromosome deletion with associated autism and severe learning difficulties. During a meltdown he had banged his head, causing himself an injury.

Both the male and female nurses who examined and treated him at a & e were brilliant. They spoke to my son in an appropriate manner, explained what they were doing, and were very thorough in checking him over.

Their manner, professionalism, and expertise helped so much, in what was a stressful and possibly volatile situation.

They both seemed very aware of how to treat a patient such as my son, who can be very challenging.

Unfortunately I can't remember their names, but I would like to thank them so much. Both were great, and they deserve recognition. Thank you.

Good afternoon Sandra K

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of the A & E department at University Hospital Wishaw.

I am delighted to hear the care and experience your son recieved was so positive. The staff work extremely hard to provide patients with the highest standard of care possible and I will ensure that your comments are passed on to the team.

Thank you again for taking the time to post your experience.

kind regards

Jean
