"My mum"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Ward B3 Cardiology Antrim Area Hospital / Ward B4 Acute Assessment Area Nightingale Wards / Nightingale 2

(as a relative),

My mum fell and banged her head. She developed a subsural hematoma and whilst getting treatment for that contracted Covid-19. I felt powerless and full of anguish because I couldn’t see, comfort or help my Mum. The staff at every ward and each hospital that treated my Mum are exceptional people - the specialists, the general care, the health services all of the integrated teams. And as a relative they also treated us with (a lot) of patience. The NHS is incredible in theory and practice. My family are indebted to your brilliance, hard work and compassion.

My name is Katrina Kelly, an Assistant Clinical Service Manager for Acute Medicine in Antrim Hospital. I am sorry to hear about your mum and I hope she is doing well. Thank you for providing this feedback which I will pass onto my team in the Acute Assessment Area. we recognise that especially during the pandemic with restricted visiting, the staff try to keep families involved and informed about their relatives as best possible. This feedback is much appreciated.

Kindest regards,

Katrina Kelly.
