"Unfriendly & rushed "

I attended the Stratford branch for 2 MRI scans. On checking in at reception I asked my name, the gentleman then proceeded to take my temperature which was acceptable. I was given a questionnaire to complete regarding Covid, I took the form and sat in the waiting area to complete said form. I heard my name being called and before I could get out of the chair I was told to go upstairs.

I walked up the stairs with the form, I was met by a member of staff and was asked for form, I replied I had not completed as yet. I felt rushed to complete. Once completed I was asked my details, name, age and why was I attending today. I answered all questions and was then weighed and told to go in the room and as my sweater had a small piece of metal to undress and put on a gown which was duly brought to me. I proceeded to remove necessary garments and was asked if I was finished yet, I replied no. I was then asked again I said no I cant turn the key in the locker, the member of staff locked locker for me and gave me the key.

As I had touched the dressing room door and key I had taken my hand sanitizer from my bag. The member of staff asked what I had in my hand, I replied my sanitizer, she asked why I informed her I need to protect myself as I had touched the door and locker key. I took my sanitizer into the room where the scanner was, the member of staff told me to put it on the chair. I was asked to get onto the scanner and was told here is a buzzer if you need it and to keep still. Once both scans were finished I hot off the scanner and was told results will be with my Doctor in 5 days.

I proceeded to leave the room, at no point did anyone direct me, I pushed and pulled a door which didnt open. There was another patient waiting and signalled to me to press button on wall to exit. I think one of the staff members could guide their patients back to the locker room.

I had a scan 5 years ago at my local NHS hospital this was a far superior experience. The NHS staff were approachable and caring. I thank my Doctor for referring myself to Inhealth, however if I ever need to have any further investigations I would ideally prefer my local hospital.

I would also like to add, at no time did I see anyone sanitize door handles or push buttons that open doors, nor the handrail on the staircase. There was no where to leave the town after I used it, no member of staff to tell me where to place it, I hung it on the door hook. There was a bin in the locker room which was used for trash. These finer details during this world wide pandemic are crucial in helping to keep everyone safe.
