"Great experience in the emergency department"

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital

I was told to ring the emergency department on Christmas Eve for some advice on some symptoms I was experiencing during early pregnancy. From start to finish I was so impressed with the experience I had. They answered the phone straight away, the receptionist listened to my concerns, spoke to a consultant for me & booked me in there and then for a last minute scan. When I arrived, I was really nervous as this was the first scan I’d ever had & I had to go in on my own due to COVID! However, the staff couldn’t have done more to make sure I was at ease with the whole process. The nurse who triaged me was really friendly, and the two doctors who performed my scan were very patient considering I was a nervous wreck and they did everything to make sure I was happy and comfortable throughout. Once the scan was done, the doctor sat with me to talk through everything and answered any questions I had. Considering it was late on Christmas Eve and all the staff were on their way home, I never felt rushed out of the appointment and the doctor was more than happy to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. All in all I was very impressed and felt so cared for the entire time, and as someone who hates going to hospital, this experience could not have gone better!
