(as a service user),

I went into the Belford for colonoscopy recently and I can’t praise the staff highly enough. From the time I arrived everyone was friendly, professional, and put me at ease. I knew that, because of some previous issues, the procedure was going to be challenging for me emotionally and I felt able to share this with the theatre nurse/ODP (sorry, I’m not sure of his job title! ) Matthew. He was absolutely wonderful, listened carefully, asked what would help and took me seriously. He held my hand, knew just when to talk and what to say, and supported me through the whole thing. Without him I am certain I would have had to cut the procedure short. He is a truly caring, empathetic and skilled nurse and I am so grateful for his care, and that of the whole team. Thank you!
