"My son has not been able to speak much"

About: Children & younger people's services / Early Intervention Speech and Language Therapy (Home talk)

(as a parent/guardian),

Since our son had not been able to speak much even after 2. 5 years of age, our child care worker reviewed his progress and referred us to NHS home talk department couple of months ago and after that Vicky from Hometalk department have been helping us with sessions, advice to improve our son's speech. That has been quite helpful to us because after the sessions, our son had shown significant improvement.

Hi

Thank you so much for posting your story. I am very glad your son was referred to the Home Talk programme and has made significant progress. Having good communication skills are crucial at this stage and his progress will help him achieve more in all areas of development as he grows.

Of course a lot of that success is also down to you as a parent engaging with the programme so well done for making the changes.

Best wishes to you and your family

Karon (General Manager)
