I do not have access to the internet and am reliant on outside support to collect prescriptions, as such this means that I have to accommodate what works best for those who are assisting me in that they use a pharmacy convenient to them. Unfortunately being dependent on this support means the luxury of being able to dictate where they go is not an option.
The government advises that the NHS is open for service, importantly how people access there medication should be done so without judgement or bias. Your decision to not process paper prescriptions when other surgeries in the area continue to do so means that those most vulnerable will ultimately suffer and likely have to go without meaning the impact on the NHS in the long-term will be more acute.
The decision should be reversed for this action only serves to push an already vulnerable set of individuals into an unseen social strata, where they and their needs are effectively ignored. You are there to provide a service to your patients, to dictate how they do so is not and by what means is does not chime with very ethos of the NHS.
