"My husband"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Hepatology

(as other),

My husband was taken onto gate 45b June 2019,he was a unwell man . But the treatment he received was appalling, he phoned me twice to say he was struggling to breathe and was cold.i could go on forever. He was taken into critical care after 11 days on that ward with sepsis, I lost him 3 days later. I have got his medical records which state he was ADMITTED to 45b with biliary sepsis, I was never told he had no treatment for this, I cannot come to terms with this.if anyone wants to look at these records they are more than welcome

Dear Cazab123

Please may I begin by offering my sincere condolences at the loss of your husband and I would like to apologise that you found the care given to your husband at our Trust stressful and distressing.

I cannot even begin to understand how you must be feeling and I am extremely sorry to read of the events you have described. It is important we learn from our patient's experiences and I wonder if you would be happy to contact our PALS team so that we can look into these events in more detail. If so, their contact details are 01924 542972 or via email myht-tr.palsmidyorks@nhs.net.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback especially at what must be a very difficult time for you.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn

Thankyou so much,PALS as been involved but I wasnt happy with the response. They said a doctor who told me and my girls that my husband had mild pneumonia, had gone to a different hospital and there was no paperwork?.All I wanted was someone to look properly at his medical records for gate 45b,there is so many questions going round in my head.I will state this is not for any Financial Gain.
