"Rude receptionist "

About: Sun Lane

I actually dread calling the surgery for anything as some of the girls can be so rude. I have been advised to shield and realised today that I had run out of my inhaler, I called the surgery (after 20 mins on hold) to ask if she would kindly send my prescription over to my surgery as I’m shielding. I got attitude, rudeness and told to come in with a paper request. I advised her that would mean me getting on a bus, and eventually agreed to send it over for me after lots of huffing and puffing.

That phone call could have been dealt with very differently, however it’s common practice with some of these ladies. For someone who has social anxiety and hates being on the phone, I have to really work up the courage to even make the call. Then I come away feeling like a told off little girl and it makes me anxious to call again.
