"Abrupt manner"

About: GPs in Lincolnshire West Peterborough City Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

I was sent to this unit by my GP with a swelling under my left rib.

When in consultation with the doctor they stated to me that the swelling was merely fat, and the only person that could do anything about it was a plastic surgeon. Went on to ask me if I had ever had Lipo suction?

The manner was abrupt, insulting and completely disrespectful. I explained I had pain and they replied that I can’t have pain as it is fat that’s all it is. Went on to say that my GP was wrong to send me to the hospital. I explained my GP was concerned and I think that anyone with an unexplained lump/swelling needs to have this examined and investigated.

Bearing in mind I am a petite slim individual I find the remarks insulting and completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
