"Reception"

About: Harborne Medical Practice

Had a blood test today, one of the consultant at QE hospital wanted to add Calcium, Vitamin D, Phosphate and PTH for the blood test.

Needed to give a message to the receptionists so the nurse can add this on the blood test, even though you are caller number 1, no one answers the call, more than 50 minutes, I can’t believe it. The surgery had hardly anyone in today. Extremely disappointing

Thank you for taking the time to advise us of your concerns.

We are sorry that you are having difficulty in getting through on our phones and do our best to answer calls within a reasonable timeframe. A patient waiting for this length of time is thankfully very unusual and we have raised this with our phone providers and asked them to look in to this for us.

Regarding the number of patients in the practice, our priority is to keep our patients and staff safe and this has meant keeping the number of patients attending in person to a minimum. This is in line with Government guidance

To help improve our service, we have shared your feedback with our staff team.

You may wish to support the practice further by joining our Patient Participation Group. Please look on our website for further information.

I would also point out that hospital blood tests should be performed by the hospital and they have satellite blood sites for this during Covid times. We have gone above what is required when performing hospital investigations.

The Harborne Medical Practice Team.
