About: Newland Group Medical Practice

My partner Had an appointment today at 2.15pm with a nurse for a blood pressure check as he's had to self monitor for the lasts 2 weeks and was told to go and buy his own machine! His appointment was at newland surgery( even though his actual surgery is new hall!) After checking in at reception and sat waiting for nearly 2 hours he was told his appointment was cancelled earlier today and he should have had a phone call!! Why was he allowed to even check in if his appointment was cancelled?????? His blood pressure is high and has been since hes been monitoring himself so hes high risk of heart attack/ stroke!!!They had rebooked his appointment for 1st Dec without asking if it was convenient as he had already taken today off work today to attend! Why was he not told !! ##No communication, patients left to their own devices, told to buy their own devices, no duty of care!!!!!! ##

Good afternoon, apologies for the late response. Unfortunately, this has been a case of human error, we have been able to investigate this and your partner has been sent an apology letter with our findings. We are very sorry for the stress and inconvenience that this caused. Kind regards, Patient Liaison Officer
