"Visit to Lincoln County"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I waited for a telephone consultation for a good few months (thanks corona), and when I finally spoke to someone it was quick and easy. I suffer from interstitial cystitis where I get regular monthly treatments. These stopped in March. Today I had a cystoscopy to see how my bladder was. I usually have treatment at Grantham, and had my cystoscopy done there before, but this time it was at Lincoln.

When I arrived the person at the main entrance couldn’t direct me where I needed to go as they didn’t know where it was, so I got forwarded to reception who said to follow the signs. Unfortunately, there are no signs for the urology investigation suite! I eventually arrived and met with a great group of staff. They checked me in and talked me through, making friendly conversation. I had a meeting with a nurse where I discussed my worries and fears and she forwarded my concerns onto Angie who was doing my procedure. Angie, Steve and the nurse talked me through the whole process and tried to keep me distracted and made sure I was comfortable throughout. Compared to the original trauma I suffered years ago at another hospital, Angie was so gentle and made a horrible procedure into an endurable one. Thank you to your urology investigation unit for all your help today.

Hi Cmgreg

Thank you for taking the time to feedback your experience. Coming into hospital to have a procedure can be a daunting and I’m really pleased the Urology team put you at ease. I will of course share your thoughts with the team and look into the lack signage you mentioned.

Take care

Kind regards

Kathryn Mayer

Hi

Thank you so much for your kind comments and taking the time to share your experience.

I know we don’t always get everything right but we always do our best. It is really nice to get positive comments particularly at these difficult times.

Thank you once again.
