"North Devon Cancer Care Counselling Service"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Cancer Services

(as a service user),

My sons have each had long term counselling with Jess from the Cancer Care Counselling Service and she has been an absolute lifeline to my boys. When my husband died and throughout the year that followed I’m not sure how my sons would have coped without the excellent counselling service Jess provides. My youngest son has such bad anxiety that he could hardly leave the house. The separation anxiety from me was so life limiting for us all. Regular sessions with Jess has enabled him to start secondary school this September, something that none of us imagined would be something he could do so easily! He is like a new child. My 16 year old son continues to be supported by Jess as he struggles with anger issues. Our family are overwhelmingly grateful for the service. Thank you so much!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. As a team we are all so passionate about providing a high standard of psychological support for families going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment. I am really pleased to hear that our service has been of use to your two boys and you have all felt well supported and listened to through what has been a very difficult time for your whole family. It has been a pleasure working alongside you and your boys and getting to know your family. As you know, you are always welcome to get in touch if you have any concerns in the future.

Warm wishes

Jess
