I was admitted to A&E on Thursday with a ruptured appendix and had surgery 24 hours later. Yes I had to wait, I couldn’t have visitors and communication could have been better, but in the current context that didn’t matter. I sat and observed the staff whilst I was there (not much else to do) and what I saw was countless heroes working under exceptional circumstances. I cant thank you all enough. Particular thanks to the surgical team they are unbelievable and I never got to express my gratitude, you literally saved my life. I wish all the staff my gratitude and hope you all stay safe.
