"Colonoscopy"

I had trouble finding the Endoscopy Dept so was a few mins late, hot and bothered and very stressed on arrival but staff immediately put me at my ease.  All were friendly kind and efficient.  The procedure was explained to me and gown socks and special pants provided.  The pants are a great idea as they preserve dignity when wearing the gown! 

I opted for sedation which was administered through a cannula which was inserted with care and not painful.

The procedure was mildly uncomfortable which I expected.  The Doctor was approachable and friendly.  He was thorough and happy to explain everything to me. I was also able to watch on the monitor.  It was over quicker than I expected and afterwards I was given a cup of tea and biscuits in the recovery area whilst I waited for my daughter to collect me.  She phoned on arrival and one of the nurses walked out with me to be sure I was safe and then left me in the hands of my daughter and checked with her that she would remain with me for 24 hours.  All Covid precautions were taken appropriately during my appointment.
