"An amazing ward"

About: Cardiology / Cardiology Assessment Hub

(as the patient),

I was admitted with a really bad blood Infection with heart pain. From the minute I was taken onto this ward I felt a sense of calm as each doctor and nurse on the ward made me feel at ease. The doctors didn’t let any stone go uncovered and I got all the tests needed, this give me great ease and reassurance that everything was been done and I had no need to worry.

The nurses where so nice as well ,and with no visitors allowed to come in I didn’t feel alone as they where so attentive and caring from morning to night and that was every day and you could see how busy they where, but not once did I feel neglected.Even down to the lady that brought me tea when she got a chance was greatly appreciated without even asking.Just having friendly faces each day really helped.

I couldn’t speak highly enough about the care I received in the four days I have been there, and the aftercare advice I was given from the doctor was very reassuring.

I have to say this ward is an amazing ward and can’t thank them enough for there care at a time when I was feeling so unwell.

JaMc-20,

As part of the larger cardiology team can I thank you for your very kind feedback on your experience within the ward. I have been asked to respond on the behalf of Sr McGrellis the ward manager.

I am glad that you felt that we were thorough in assessing and treating you and that 'no stone was left un-turned'.

With the current COVID situation the no-visiting policy is a necessary evil and we do our best to ensure that our patients don't feel isolated or alone and I am pleased to hear that you felt cared for and not neglected.

Please be reassured that the entire team of staff will have this feedback shared with them.

Kind regards,

Andrew Fleming.
