"They do everything to help"

About: Earnswood Medical Centre Leighton Hospital / Endocrinology Leighton Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I had Bariatric surgery 2 years ago and later went to see Dr Spencer and told him I felt ill, my weight was dropping fast and I looked so ill.

Dr Spencer took a look at me and said I think you have Addison’s!

As a Phlebotomist, I had heard of Addison’s I knew it was very rare. He sent me for 9 am cortisol.

That evening I was shopping at the supermarket and I got a call to say go to A&E now, you are very ill, my reply was you sure you have the right person!

Yes they did have the right person, with in 2 days of being in hospital lots of  tests, hay ho, Dr Spencer was right with what he diagnosed.

I was a mess when I went back to see him and he was fantastic, and the last 2 years he’s been my saving grace at the end of the phone he always calls me back and always sorts me out .

I can tell you now with out Dr Spencer I don’t think I would be here today, his support has been 💯%

The best is I don’t have to explain everything about my Addison’s, he is on top of it .

Thank you to all the staff at the surgery when you say you're an Addison’s pt they do everything to help.

I owe my life to Dr  Spencer.
