About: Bramblehaies Surgery

(as a service user),

I contacted the Surgery in September due to having a complaint in my right shoulder which I believe to be a trapped Nerve. The first practitioner prescribed medication and stated that I would need Physiotherapy and said to leave with them to arrange and I would hear something within 2 weeks if not then to contact the surgery back. I had not received any feedback after After 2 weeks so contacted the Surgery again where I had further consultation with another practitioner, who was not very helpful at all. I explained that I was still in pain and that the medication prescribed did not work. Also I stated that I had not received any communications with regards to the Physio.

Due to the pain I made arrangements to see a chiropractor, at this point I was told to stop wasting my money by the Practitioner, I explained the reason for going to the Chiropractor was because I was still in pain and had not received any further information from the surgery about the physio. The practitioner then stated that if I dont hear anything from them within another week and half then to contact back the Surgery.

I explained that the Chiropractor has said that I need anti-inflammatory and pain killers as she was unable to control the pain and do anything further as the condition was severe and that she was concerned that this may progress into a frozen shoulder.

The practitioner also stated that I should use my left hand more to do things like clean my teeth, sign myself off work to self certificate which I explained that I had just taken 10 days leave in which time which made no difference. I was also instructed to take ibuprofen tablets, I explained that I have high blood pressure and I am not allowed to take this. The practitioner then said that the medication for High blood pressure would counter the ibuprofen and this would be ok. I explained that I was not going to do this and was told then I must take aspirin instead.

The reason I am writing this complaint is that it is now 10 weeks in I am still in constant pain 24 hours a day, I have had no further response from anyone with regard to arrangements with Physio. I can appreciate we are in a Pandemic but that should not stop the medical attention where it is needed.

I’m very sorry that you have been unhappy with the service you have received. We always appreciate feedback direct and would have welcomed a conversation to discuss these concerns. If you could consider contacting the practice this would enable us the opportunity to investigate this further. Many thanks,

Tracey Worley,
