"Our mother receiving wonderful care and recovery from COVID-19 - thank you."

About: Royal United Hospital / General medicine South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

Hello.

I would like to extend our regrettably belated, but most heartfelt and well-deserved gratitude on behalf of our mother. I am one of her children, and I am writing to you on her behalf.

She contracted SARS-COV-2 during the Spring, and was admitted to RUH Bath with COVID-19.

She has spoken at length and with great warmth to my siblings and I about her experience, outlining the extent of the outstanding professional and personable care she received.

This includes, but is not limited to, the superb ambulance crew that collected her - the incredible doctors and nurses that cared for her during her approximate 10-day stay, the fantastic cooks and caterers, and the wonderful cleaning and maintenance staff.

Our mother wishes to praise your extraordinary collective care of her through an exceptionally difficult time for her personally and us as a family, but also to recognise the extreme challenges that you have endured and continue to face as frontline health and support practitioners, at what has been a very challenging period.

From our mother, and from the rest of the family, thank you so much for all that you are doing in the face of this terrible pandemic.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Kindest regards and best wishes.

Thank you so very much for your kind words about your mum's experience at the RUH. It makes such a difference to staff morale particularly at this very difficult time. I have shared your feedback with Cara Charles Barks, our Chief Executive.

Please do send our best wishes to your mum for her ongoing recovery.
