Brought my husband into A&E, was very worried about the waiting time etc as he was so unwell. Never been through A&E so fast it was amazing. Within 40 mins he had seen triage, doctor and sent to SAU. after having X-ray and scan it was discovered he had a blockage( we knew this as he had not been yo the loo for 2 weeks). Not being able to stay with him I left him there. Later on, his surgeon phoned to tell me that he was going to have to have surgery and would be operated on that day. She explained what she was going to do and would phone me back after the op, which she did. Thought that was the end of that, unfortunately he had an internal bleed and she needed to open him up again to stop the bleeding, which she did. Hopefully he is now on the mind. During all this I have been kept up to date with his operations and when I phone ward 108 and ask about his welfare they have been brilliant. I cannot fault the hospital and very grateful for all the staff involved in his care, not only caring for him but also having the time to let me know his progress as I know they are all busy. Thank you so much. I’m just looking forward to him coming home, but I know he’s in good hands. Thank you.
