I attended Spire Liverpool for a left hip replacement in Oct 2020. The operation, whilst quite common these days is nonetheless a serious operation.Suffice to say that I was very worried in the run up to the operation especially on the day of the op itself. Nonetheless I badly needed the op as I was in acute pain and struggling to walk. I think that the staff knew that I was worried and in fairness everyone I came into contact with did their absolute utmost to reassure me and to settle me. By the time I got to the pre op room I was very relaxed. I had a spinal and a little bit of something to make me drowsy. I do not remember seeing the inside of the operating theatre or the surgeon. I remember waking up in recovery and it was all over. I stayed at the hospital for 3 nights and I was very well cared for the whole time. I am now almost 5 weeks after the op and my crippling arthritic pain has gone.I still have some post op pain but that will soon go.I have my 6 week review next week and hopefully my surgeon will tell me to throw away the crutches and start to walk unaided again.
"Successful operation"
