"Horrendous treatment"

About: Purley War Memorial Hospital

I contacted A&E after i had visited minor injuries and had an x-ray which showed a fractured patella; they could not give me a crutch (even though they said i needed one) as they didn’t have any and were apologetic and suggested I contacted Purley hospital. When I called I spoke to a man who was very abrupt and refused to give me a crutch, despite the fact I cannot walk without one and suffer with ankolysing spondylitis that means if I do not stay active my back will deteriorate making hospitalisation more likely. He simply told me this wasn’t his problem as I wasn’t his patient. I asked to speak to someone more senior and he refused and when I asked for his name he refused to give it and hung up the other phone. I have never been treated so badly before.
