To attend any NHS Hospital always reminds me of how lucky I and the rest of the population is. But having spent quite a bit of time in some of the hospitals I also see how underfunded our services really are. The staff do their extreme best for all of us patients no matter how easy or difficult we are, the service is way too top heavy in my humble opinion, and by that I mean too many upper management, and they in turn pour more work on our nurses by way of in some cases too much paperwork, this I think is to justify the management roles.
Food in all hospitals is at best terrible, the TV chef James Martin proved it is more cost effective for facilitators to buy fresh and local and in turn more healthy for the patient. Why this was not pushed forward is beyond ridiculous.
But in short, I have no complaints about my care, treatment or my stats. The staff are overworked and under paid. 5 stars to the staff
