"My husband's heart attack"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Interventional Cardiology Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My husband had chest tightness and pain whilst playing golf. I took him to a& e at RAH where he was taken to the assessment unit and promptly diagnosed with a heart attack.   As he was stable, he was sent to coronary care where he was cared for by Dr. Crawford and Dr. Stuart and the cardiology team. On Tuesday he was transferred to the golden jubilee for angioplasty where he received a stent under the care of the fantastic cardiology team and Prof. Hany.   There was no visiting allowed due to Covid restrictions, but we felt safe in the knowledge he was in the best hands. The team were every empathetic and caring. He was discharged home last week, and feels well and very grateful.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to share your lovely feedback. The last few weeks must have been a very worrying time for your and your husband, especially with all the restrictions Covid-19 has brought us.

We have shared your comments with the Cardiology Team at RAH, who were delighted that you and your husband felt so well supported and cared for throughout your husband's time in hospital.

At a time of significant challenge for our teams, it was particularly kind of you to highlight your positive experience and heartening for them to hear that their efforts have been rewarded.

Please pass on my best wishes to your husband for his ongoing recovery.

Many thanks again,

Linda

Everyone in the NHS is working so hard just now during such difficult times. So grateful to the volunteers also who took things up to the ward.

Dear Foxbar103

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your lovely comments. I am very pleased to read how well your husband was cared for, at what must have been a very worrying time for you both. This must have been an extremely difficult time not being able to visit your husband due to the COVID restrictions, but I am pleased that the teams kept you updated in and empathic and caring manner. The teams are working extremely hard during this difficult time and they will be delighted to read such lovely compliments. Please be assured I will pass this onto them.

I do hope your husband continues to recover well.

Regards

Paula
