"Harris Birthright Centre"

Firstly, having observed social distancing at the reception on the ground floor and been asked about possible Covid symptoms I was surprised to then be greeted by someone approaching me and touching my arm in the Harris Birthright Centre. When I asked if we could observe social distancing, the nurse seemed offended. I thought this would be standard practice at a medical facility. 

I was asked twice,' did I have a partner with me?' When I replied No, I was further asked 'So you are alone?' This is neither helpful or supportive. I was happy to be there alone but I wonder that this question is not asked more sensitively to women who may find themselves unexpectedly alone and/or who are feeling vulnerable. Also can the question not reflect that you may be supported by a friend or family member and not a partner? 

I asked the nurse whether the blood they were taking was for a research project they had mentioned earlier or for other reasons as well, and the nurse responded curtly and defensively that it was only permitted to take blood with an explanation. On the previous visit I had blood taken and tested for 20 different things with no explanation.

I think the technical facilities are second to none and some of the issues may be to do with staff attitude but these aspects of my visit were not helpful at a time at a very uncertain time.
