"My experience of visiting my relative"

About: Highbury Hospital / Silver Birch Ward

(as a carer),

On occasion I would be very upset following visits with my relative but Ali offered the biggest area of support, any concerns I’ve had she has spoke to me, such a constant physical and emotional support and such empathetic and caring words.

Nurses Bryony and Sophie, so professional, what they think is just their job I think is them going above and beyond and set the standards of what nurses should be.

Nora so person centred and tentative towards relative.

Gives me such fantastic relief to know my relative is being cared for by these people.

The staff on Silver Birch ward try so hard to care for patients in a compassionate way and when they get feedback like this, it inspires them. Dementia can be such a cruel illness, not only on the person suffering from it, but all their loved ones too.

Ali has been a member of staff for many years on Silver Birch and has always provided patients and visitors with support which goes above that of 'just doing a job' - thank you Ali and all the staff on Silver Birch Ward.

Once again, thanks for your feedback. It's heart-warming to know we are doing a good job during these difficult times.
