After a rather quick diagnosis I was admitted by neurosurgeon Mr Bhatt for urgent surgery to the vertebrae in my neck.
This gentleman’s expertise, honesty and fantastic sense of humour turned what had been a very difficult time for me into something to look forward to (not a description you expect to hear from someone having major surgery) and undergo without fear.
I was then passed on to ward 205 where I was met by an amazing team of staff who took over my care. I can give nothing but praise for their knowledge understanding and never-ending patience. As a staff nurse myself I am aware it is all to common for complaints to be submitted and although grateful thank yous are given by patients and families whilst speaking to staff members whose standard answer is ‘I’m just doing my job’, your comments need to be shared.
I will not name individuals for fear of missing someone out, but just thank every single person I met on ward 205 for your contribution during my admission. You are all absolute stars
