"My drugs recovery"

I’ve have been trying to get off drugs for nearly 20 years.  Things got so bad for me over the covid period I managed to find One Recovery in high Wycombe.  I have tried so many things over the years with no success.   Finally I started to speaking to Becks ( Rebecca). From the first time I spoke to Becks I felt at ease and her manner on the phone is amazing. From speaking to Becks I then got myself back to C/A and found a new sponsor and also got back to see my counsellor.  

Everyone of these avenues is amazing but the is something about the way Becks deals with my issues that has helped me more than most.  She is just amazing at her job and has the most strong and gentle way of talking to you on the phone.  The advice and constructive words have really been a rock to me over the last few months.  I have always been on to flap and waffle with my issues but with Becky I want to sit and listen and I do as I’m instructed and take on the tasks I’m given.   I can’t thank her enough for the support and kindness she has shown me. It’s not everyone in life you can connect with especially over the phone, and since we haven’t Even met Due to covid,  I feel Her Telephone manner and her approach to her job is second to none and I’m so so lucky to have made that connect with her. 

Today I am clean 8 weeks and I never thought I would get through 8 hours.   My journey is only just beginning but I know I do want to ever Go back.  

If there is anyone reading this at the beginning of their journey like me... trust in your case worker and trust what you are asked to do. I do hope everyone can have the same experience with their support people as I have had with Becks.  I can’t ever thank her enough.
