"Woeful!"

About: Grove House Practice

I needed a consultation regarding vaccinations for a trip to Malaysia but I was told I would have to wait for a month before they could even call me about making an appointment. As we are supposed to be flying in a month's time and some of the vaccinations require boosters over the course of a month, this was clearly hopeless. I gave up and went to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine instead and was seen in two days.

I also needed a very simple medical form signed to say I was fit to work but I was told I needed to leave the form with them for a month before they could even look at it. I can only assume they're slow readers! I eventually gave up and drove to Lincolnshire to register with my old GP instead, reasoning it would be quicker and easier to drive there if I needed an appointment. Amazingly, I had progress in Lincolnshire within a few days.

My wife also needed a repeat prescription urgently and she was told to drop in the request for a repeat prescription. Almost two weeks later she had nothing and when she phoned about it, she was told they had no record of it and was given different instructions. By this stage she was dangerously low on her medication and made them aware of this but she was told that she would need to see a doctor first. That's fair enough but then they couldn't see her for weeks anyway!

It's a sad job when you live in Runcorn and to get anywhere with a doctor you have to drive all the way to Lincolnshire to register with your old doctor. I realise Covid-19 complicates things but this really is the most woefully disorganised practice I've ever come across.

Dear Patient

Thank you taking time to write a review. We welcome all patient feedback as we believe it is the best way to learn how to improve services and consider the most appropriate approach across our 14,400 patient population.

You help us to improve and our Patient Participation Group help us to review new ideas, problems and future developments. Please get in touch if you would like to take part in our PPG.

I was saddened to read that you feel we have not met your expectation on this occasion but as these reviews are anonymous it is difficult to investigate what happened or how to help you further. The practice has a robust complaints procedure in place, which will investigate and look to resolve the problem. This can be found on our website www.grovehouse.co.uk

Without excuse, some tasks have been impacted by the Corona Virus which has caused delays and challenges but we are working as hard as ever to deliver your health service.

We will communicate changes on our website and Facebook page.
