"My experience in hospital"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine Lincoln County Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I had a TIA and was referred to A&E. The Staff were very professional and despite the difficulties of the covid lockdown were very efficient.

After a period of 4-5 hours I received a brain scan and was submitted to the Stroke ward were I was received very kindly at about 11pm at night. I had not eaten since

breakfast and was kindly made tea and toast.

I was in hospital for just over 7 days and was treated extremely well by nurses, health care assistants, doctors, consultants, housekeepers, cleaners, everyone who came onto the ward was pleasant, informative, responsive to questioning with regard to all aspects of my care.

I found it difficult to know how how to interact with my fellow patients (if I should at all) and the concern I felt for others who were in an immobile state and having difficulty expressing their conditions I sometimes thought I recognised.

Thank you so much for your feedback, I am so pleased your hospital experience was positive, I will share this with the stroke unit team, we understand how worrying an emergency admission can be and we do our best to ensure all our patients are supported, reassured and well looked after.

Best wishes with your ongoing recovery at home.

Regards

Melanie Caunt
